Forget Finance

Problem

Forget Finance sought to simplify personal finance for everyone, offering a platform that not only educates users but also enables them to execute financial plans, such as savings and investment strategies, directly within the app.

Solution

As one the first employee and founding designer, I worked closely with the founders, Jurek and Koin, to build the product from the ground up. My contributions included creating the initial designs, developing a design system, establishing brand foundations, and defining key user flows. We crafted a service that allowed users to map their current financial situation, plan for a desired future, and execute those plans through partner banks, with Forget Finance managing the payment infrastructure in-house.

Design

The design philosophy focused on simplicity, given the complexity and content-rich nature of personal finance. A clear information architecture was key, ensuring that the form followed function. This approach was particularly crucial in the financial sector, where complex topics often necessitate a straightforward and user-friendly interface, potentially even requiring human consultancy.

Impact

Our efforts culminated in Forget Finance securing a significant seed funding round of 4.2 million euros. The design we implemented was clean, minimalistic, and meticulously crafted to ensure clarity, resulting in an exceptional user experience and interface that truly embodied the company’s mission to simplify finance for everyone.

Appendix

I left the company in 2023. Afterward, they pivoted to focus on investment apps and effectively exited to Evergreen and Liqid by the end of 2024.
